Custom vacuum seal bags have a very wide range of application and can be mainly used in industrial areas and civil areas according to the use of scenarios. People package food in vacuum bags in order to preserve freshness and extend shelf life. The material of the vacuum bag directly affects its preservation performance. Here four common materials used for vacuum bags are explained.
1. Polyester vacuum bag
Polyester is a general term for polymers obtained by the condensation of polyol and polyacid, and mainly refers to polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The colorless, transparent and glossy polyester vacuum bag is made of PET. With excellent mechanical properties, high rigidity, hardness and toughness, puncture resistance, friction resistance, high and low temperature resistance, chemical resistance, oil resistance, and fragrance retention, polyester is one of the commonly used permeability composite vacuum bag base materials and commonly used as the outer layer material of steaming packaging.
2. Nylon vacuum bag
As a kind of extremely tough vacuum bag, nylon vacuum packing bag has excellent transparency, high tensile strength, excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, oil resistance and organic solvent resistance, wear resistance and puncture resistance, and excellent oxygen barrier, so it’s suitable for packaging hard products, such as greasy food, meat products, fried food, vacuum-packed food, and steamed food, etc. Nylon composite bags and multi-layer co-extruded vacuum bags with higher performance can be derived from nylon vacuum bags.
3. Aluminum foil vacuum bag
Aluminum foil is the main ingredient of aluminum-plastic composite vacuum packaging bag (PET/AL/PE or PET/NY/AL/PE or PET/NY/AL/CPP). Opaque and silver-white aluminum foil has the characteristics of good barrier, heat sealing, light blocking property, high and low temperature resistance, oil resistance, and fragrance preservation; non-toxic and tasteless; softness. Aluminum foil is suitable for moisture-proof and light-avoidance custom vacuum seal bags of large precision mechanical equipment, chemical raw materials, and pharmaceutical intermediates. Aluminum foil vacuum bags often have four-layer structure, thus having good water and oxygen barrier function.
4. PE vacuum bag
Polyethylene (PE) is a thermoplastic resin made by polymerization of ethylene. With transparency and price lower than nylon, PE vacuum bag has excellent air, oil and fragrance resistance. It’s not suitable for high temperature and refrigeration.
